Visited on a Thursday night, 27 Feb 2020 at about 20:15 - Party of five. Website indicated we needed to make a reservation. Tried to do so online. Never heard back from them. Finally called them to make the reservation. Was told up-front that the restaurant is not wheel-chair accessible. Finally arrived to enter a completely empty, dimly lighted and very cold restaurant - except for the GLOVO employee, waiting in a jacket for his order. (I thought I was in the wrong place.) Nice waitress assured me we were in the right place. Immediately began to question my choice of restaurants for our party. We didn't have to wait for a table. Waitress immediately seated us, gave us menus and took our drink orders. She was very friendly. Ordered the New York Strip, the Porterhouse, Becki Odrezak, Prime Beef Burger, Pizza, and two orders of onion rings as starters. Average wait for such a large - and clearly unexpected - order. Onion rings were lousy - typical: some sort of onion paste, shaped into a circle, breaded and deep fried. (I actually haven't found a restaurant in Croatia that makes real onion rings. I don't know why that is. It's not like they're difficult to make!) The pizza was good. The Prime Beef burger was good. The breading on the Bečki odrezak was stale ... made it taste terrible. The New York Strip was like eating shoe leather. Worst I've ever purchased. (Perhaps just a one-off bad piece of meat??) The Porterhouse Steak, though, was absolutely perfect! A little disappointed that a steakhouse didn't carry a Cabernet, but the Merlot was a fine substitute. Would have preferred Jamnica to Studenac (but that's just a preference), and perhaps a carafe of still water alongside the bottle of mineral water, for those at our table who drank it. If you plan to visit in the winter, bring a coat! (Not sure why they did not heat the place ... or turn ON the heat when they actually had customers in the dining room?) Waitress was pleasant and friendly. No complaints there. She had a difficult time explaining the menu items. If she was, indeed, familiar with all the items on the menu she utterly failed in her attempt to demonstrate that knowledge. (When I inquired as to a Cabernet, she had to excuse herself to ask whether one was available. - it wasn't - When I asked about differences in potato sides, she couldn't explain them. That kind of performance would have certainly gotten her fired in the U.S., but ... okay. It's Osijek. And what she clearly lacked in knowledge of the menu, she made-up for in friendliness.) Another note on wait staff: I had to actually ASK for another glass of wine. But that's pretty standard throughout Croatia - at least in my experience. It is EXTREMELY rare - bordering on "completely unheard of" - to have the wait staff of any restaurant inquire as to your interest in another drink. After all, why should the wait staff work to make more money for the employer?!? There's absolutely no incentive for them to do so - as tipping is rare or low, and waitresses and waiters earn minimum wage regardless of how well they hustle sales! It's way wrong, but ... it is what it is.) The food here, in our one-time experience to Osijek, was "hit and miss" at best. Portions were fair. Prices, though, were a bit high for the quality of food we received. But it wasn't astronomical. We walked out the door paying about 120kn a head: 606kn - (incl. a 10% tip for the nice waitress ... hoping she'll remember to turn on the heat - or the air conditioner - for customers next time, and maybe also inquire as to the interest of customers for another drink - or maybe desert). Mentioning "desert" reminds me that our table found it amusing that "kolač"/"cake" was listed on the desert portion of the menu, yet there was no indication as to the kind of cake being offered! It was a joke at our table - "Mystery Cake". (Management might consider being a bit more specific on the menu ... and upgrading their wine menu to include nice Cabernet.)
