Villa Dojmi

Poorly equipped - just not worth the money... Pros: Nice building(s), pool and gardens. Pool table. Plenty of room. Cons: Just not equipped to a very high standard. Twelve of us stayed there for almost two weeks - and had to use just one cooker/oven as none of the other two had any trays/grill pans. The toaster, kettle and coffee machine all share ONE SOCKET - so you're constantly JUGGLING PLUGS EVERY MORNING. We found SIX wine glasses and just a few other glasses in the whole place. We had to BUY OUR OWN PLASTIC CUPS. The aircon didn't work for pretty much the whole two weeks we were there in one of the bedrooms - so it was uncomfortably hot during the night. We repeatedly requested a fan, but nothing doing here folks! After a while they had a man out to repair it, but it didn't really work - about as effective as leaving the fridge door open. This was blamed on 'Americans' who left it on all day and night who stayed there before us. The outside dining area hadn't been cleaned (full ashtrays ANYONE?) and the garden was in need of a tidy up. There are WASPS EVERYWHERE. We asked if there was anything they could do. The hosts put up wasp traps - but not one wasp was caught. YOU WILL GET STUNG. SO WILL YOUR KIDS. You will spend HOURS dredging them out of the pool so your kids don't get REPEATEDLY STUNG! Not enough towels for everybody - so we had to SHARE! Just a half size dish washer - great if there's just a few of you. Not if there's TWELVE! Tiny kitchen sink too. DODGY INTERNET (blamed on an electrical storm). My son also got a nasty ELECTRIC SHOCK from a socket in the pool room. THIS PLACE IS DANGEROUS! (He's OKAY folks - thankfully - the hosts didn't seem to care). The owners were quite responsive to our complaints - but didn't really do ANYTHING to help us. They're just too busy working on their new HOTEL and RESTAURANT. This place is clearly just a CASH COW for the other businesses. And its in the middle of nowhere. Bring a MOSQUITO NET cos you will get EATEN ALIVE! What this place needs is a HOUSEKEEPER who pops in every couple of days to check everything is OKAY. We PAID A FORTUNE for this place for TWO WEEKS - but got the distinct feeling this was the older, uglier, adopted sister - that the owners no longer care about, now that they had a new HOTEL and RESTAURANT to run... AVOID.

A fantastic location, lovely hosts who organise everything (and make their own wine!), I had an amazing week of yoga and relaxation at Villa Dojmi, definitely recommended!
