Kaštel Benković

Nice castle, bur VERY small. A little museum and friendly staff. Worth a visit if you are in the town, but probably not worth driving to specifically.

Unfortunately closed, with no info about opening hours or ways to see. Nice from the outside tho

It's a 9th century fort Worth lots of history. We were told it will be closed on 2020 for renovations. The curator spent several minutes with us explaining the history. Croatia was the crossroads been the East and West. Turks from the East controlled the area in the earlier times and the Venicians from the West did the same. The city it'ss located in had plenty of restaurants to choose to eat at.

Didn't have any expectations, so Kaštel Benković definitely surprised me - in a good way ! You can feel the history of the place, such well preserved. The view on top is breathtaking. And the yard, with natural shade form one big old tree in the middle, is something special. Definitely worth driving from Zadar

Nice fortress, great view from towers
