Nice and small museum, but it has a very interesting collection of guns and the museum guide who speaks good English told us the stories behind each collection which relates to the history of the city. Cheap entrance especially for families

After the Ancient Forum ceased to be the center of public urban life in the early Middle Ages, the Great Square - Platea Magna took over its function. From 1625 until the establishment of socialist rule it was called the Lord's, and since then the People's Square. Among the Zadar people, it is enough to say only the square. Everyone thinks the same. In the middle of it stood the church of St. Peter the New. It is known that the city council met in it in 1199, and in 1251 it was written that the council was "in the habit" of sitting there. The church was demolished in 1447, and the stone used to build the eastern defense canal was later converted into a Five Well tank. After the demolition of St. Peter the New, the square is paved with bricks and stone slabs. Offended that he did not participate in the decision to make this important operation, the stock of Zadar citizens protested in 1468, even to the point of Venetian duty. The remains of that square were found in late 1969, when the present sidewalk was erected. The elongated bricks were composed of fish-bones and the larger surfaces were bounded by white stone slabs. Such a process created a white mesh ornament on a reddish background. Zeljko Serdar
