positive Hostel

Positive Hostel - that‘s quite a name. Especially one that sets the bar high. Positive is the pricing - actually it has an unbeatable cheap price. For 3 nights I paid just 28€. That‘s super cheap for Zagreb. The location is also not too bad if you don‘t mind taking the tram to the city centre. We thought it‘s absolutely fine. The Hosts are also nice. BUT the hygiene is just super low - sorry. Particularly when thinking that it‘s „Corona“, one can expect, even at hostel, that the common rooms like the bathroom & the toilette are clean. Due to the low price & that we‘re actually not that picky, it was okay - but also our room was not even vacuum cleaned. We stayed in a 4 beds Bedroom with 2 people, which was okay. But it was so cramped - that it would just have been terrific to imagine really sharing that room with 2 more people. The „public“ chill area is also not that clean and it just didn‘t feel inviting to us. We could also not imagine having there a nice simple drink or a nice simple dish - it just looked abandoned and as if the owner does not care too much. If you are fine with all that - take advantage of the cheap prices, maybe it‘s „recommendable“ for one night - but I truly cannot recommend it for a longer stay & if people want to feel „home“. Sorry.

Nothing like in the pictures and description. No air conditioning even though it said so on booking.com, stuffy and hot room, our room smelled like a public toilet because of the bathrooms and like smoke as people kept smoking on a terrace directly in front of our window, the beds were clean and comfortable but the room was dirty, the bathrooms were very dirty, musty, and smelled. All this during a pandemic is not acceptable. Also, the WiFi didn’t work in the rooms as it was too far away from the router. We left the accommodation in the middle of the night because we could not sleep there.

Small hostel with nice, clean rooms and very low prices. Unfortunately toilets are dirty, same for kitchen. There was no air conditioning in our room so it was very hot. Very poor WiFi signal in some rooms.

You get what you pay for. There is a chance you get a ( big) room or apartment with large balcony ( tv, Wi-Fi, fridge) The fifth star for accepting a dog. 2.5- 3km from the Zagreb center

By the pictures and reviews from other people one could imagine that is a nice place, which is what happened to us and the reason why we book it, but not at all, the place is not cleaned, usually there is no one in the reception and they are just very unorganized. The room was ok and probably the only clean area in this place, but the kitchen, the toilets and the shower are just disgusting. There are better options for the same price in Zagreb, I would definitely not stay here again.
