Amazing island - contrasting busy Dubrovnik!

Lokrum Island is assessable by ferry from Dubrovnik port at the old city. The ride is 15 minutes. The Island is a green area and has a number of ruins like Benedictine Monastery and Fort Royal. This is also the Emerald Island of Game of Thrones. In fact there is a replica of the iron throne for you to sit and have your picture taken. It is definitely worth a visit. You can look at almost everything within two hours.

Lokrum is a nice getaway from Dubrovnik. The primary reason for the lower rating is the cost of entry to the island. I believe for our family of 5 it was around 700 Kuna. This was with the guy actually letting two of our children in on the less expensive "child" ticket even though 1 did not qualify.

We liked it. Comfortable boat trip from the port. The bathing spots are beautiful. The view from the highest point on the island is fantastic. All in all a well-rounded affair.
