Extremely satisfied customer! We spent a few days in Dubrovnik (for business) and went a total of 3 times to this restaurant. The first time we tried their mixed veal and lamb Peka, which was extremely delicious. You need to call 3 hours in advanced to request this dish, which is superb. I would even risk to say that the potatoes are just as good as the meat as they soak all of the juices for three hours.
The second time we went, we again reserved the Peka. This time, for some reason, our order had been missed, and our Peka had not been prepared. The manager was so embarrassed that he offered the three of us, lunch ON THE HOUSE! Wow!! Never in my life have I received such compensation. We ordered other dishes and drinks, which we of course offered to pay, but the manager insisted it was for free and wished we would give him another chance.
So we came again a third time to try the octopus Peka. What a treat!! The three of us had the same dish, and boy did we have a meal. The octopus was absolutely delicious and tender.
Services, overall in Croatia, is very good, but this restaurant definitely surpassed them all. Highly recommend them for the food and especially for the treatment!
Having travelled to many countries around the world tasting amazing food along the way this has to be among the top 3 meals easily. Traditional Peka is a must & you need to call 3 hours in advance to ensure it is prepared for you. You will not be disappointed. Great wine, beautiful hillside/country location.
Where east meets west, both literally and culinary, you can have a taste of their mutual desire on this magical place overlooking a fairytale city of Dubrovnik.
We were met with homemade brandy. We had 4 kids with us and the restaurant was perfect with kids. Even the 7 year old said it was his favorite restaurant in Croatia. There's a play area for kids and the owner showed us how they cook the iron pot meals. The food is incredible and so is the ambiance.
Absolutely gorgeous, authentic local food in the village just below the cable car station. Take the cable car up, go to this lovely, friendly restaurant for lunch and then walk down to Dubrovnik. Perfect.
