Mausoleum of the Racic family

A beautifully built mausoleum. I have a little bit of a soft spot for this place for some reason. Was scared to go up at midnight. But in the day it is a very tranquil place. Built by Mestrovic for the Racic family, a shipbuilder I believe, to house his family in the afterlife. Stunning piece of work.

Steeply uphill behind the Monastery. A large octagonal building as a memorial to a wealthy family. You must pay to enter. The surounding cemetery is very scenic and interesting. Unfortunately, it is on the Airport flightpath.

A very evocative spot away from the commercial hubbub of Cavtat , the mausoleum is small but beautifully looked after and the graveyard is immaculate with extensive views across to Dubrovnik

Peaceful place of rest to privileged few of Cavtat. Pity you need to pay 20kuna to see inside building. Scenic views from graveyard.
