A fantastic Island full of forests and lower peaks with great views. Lots of beautiful secluded beaches. West side of the island is a national park.

It's a hidden gem without tourist hordes!

Relaxation and tranquility in all the visited spots, probably thanks to Corona, the number of visitors was very low. So quite okay ....... What I didn't like personally, somehow the local or working people there seemed quite unfriendly,

Like many other Adriatic islands, Mljet is characterized by steep, inaccessible stretches of coastline, with interesting historical stories and legends. One of them tells us that an ancient Greek hero, Odyseus, was stranded in the middle of a great storm by the shores of the island. Obviously, the event recorded in Homer's epic Odyssey does not necessarily have a real historical basis, but that is ancillary. Indeed, Mljet is an extraordinary island that could easily be the home of a mythical hero. Beautiful nature, crystal clear sea, lakes, islets and rich cultural heritage make Mljet a unique pearl of the Adriatic coast. Mljet is the southernmost Croatian island. It lies in the immediate vicinity of Dubrovnik, Korcula and the Elaphite Islands. It is separated from the Pelješac peninsula by the Mljet Canal. The highest peak of the island is 514 meters high Veliki grad. In addition, there are several dozen more hills on the island that are 300 meters above sea level. There are numerous karst valleys, polje and hundreds of smaller valleys on the island. It offers ideal conditions for mountain hiking, while the entire length of the island passes the Mljet Circular Hiking Trail.

The island is absolutely beautiful and quiet. The best place to rest.
