would be helpful for all tourists if the shopping carts also take 50c or 1€ coins (you dont get Kuna coins at the ATM). at Konzum this is possible.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SUPERMARKET! We made the mistake of coming here twice during our brief stay on Brač Island. The first time we shopped here we had difficulties at the self service checkouts. After a very long while the attendant showed up out of nowhere and started barking at us in Croatian (when it was obvious we didn’t understand). Even though she couldn’t get the checkout to work, she still wouldn’t let us move to another one. She was very rude, but we didn’t let that stop us from coming back. The second time we visited, we went to the deli (gastro) and we patiently waited for at least 10mins while another customer was being served. During this time an entitled elderly woman pushed in line to ensure she would be served before us even though we had clearly been waiting MUCH longer than her. It was disappointing that the attendant chose to serve her before us, simply because the old woman was getting impatient. Then when we finally got to the checkout, a staff member on a lunch break blatantly cut in front of us to serve herself! Is it normal to be this rude in this country? Is it because we are tourists? Do we not deserve the same common courtesy as locals, despite the fact we go out of our way to be respectful as guests here? Or is waiting in line for your turn just not part of Croatian culture? RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. This supermarket was also over-priced so we definitely won’t be back. Thank you for the bad memories of our experience on Brač!
