Green Lizard Hostel

BED BUGS! We arrived to a room with unmade beds and the receptionist knowing very little about the rooms or the area. Later that night, we found 2 bed bugs in the bed, and one more on the floor. Upon informing management, we were moved to a new room because of the hour, otherwise we would have left. The actual manager was nowhere to be found and only communicated with us through her staff. Although she promised to come the next morning, we never met her. We requested a full refund for our stay because of the substandard room and bed bugs problems. The manager refused this, insinuating that they had done us a favour by moving us to a new room. We found the staff to be aggressive, but also agreed that in fact we should receive the full refund although the manager would only refund the rest of our stay. Thoroughly disappointed with this mode of doing business and clear lack for courtesy. STAY AWAY

Calling all bed bugs, we found your friends!!!! Upon arriving, first of all, everything was so disorganised and no body seemed to have a clue what is up. Thank goodness we saw them before sleeping there the first night, But we found bed bugs!!!!!! After literally showing the reception proof and confirming they were bed bugs, they acted like they literally did not care, had no protocol, and I would not be surprised if they stuck more people in there the next night without doing anything...so have fun to those who are considering staying there!! We wanted to go somewhere else but it was too late, so it was a struggle. They eventually put us in a new room, but made it seem like they were doing us a favour and still wouldn't give us a refund (and the cover for the double bed was a single duvet, so either your arms or your feet are warm...you chose). The next morning we tried to sort it out and goodness, the RUDEST staff...correction, people, I have ever encountered. It is a standard that we should get our money back. But all they did was shout at us, disrespect us and say "It's Croatia, you get bugs!!!". I'm from South Africa, I am not afraid of bugs, but when bed bugs are thrown into the mix and they don't even care or would not give us a refund, thats when you know that it's a hole. Oh and to top it off, the manager, who said she would be there, was not even there to talk to us and was too chicken to even talk to us on the phone. Absolute disgrace, I hope you and your staff get those bed bugs you clearly didn't care about.

Our stay here was very mixed. Even though the green lizard's staff tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. It was clear the owner of the place is a big penny pusher. The facilities are horrible and some toilets could not be locked at all. The outside kitchen seems like a great idea to have an extra room for more guests to stay and thus more money to make. Tldr; The very basics are covered but the experience was below subpar.

Lovely staff but not a nice building at all. Cold shower, broken showerheads, air con was noisy so wasn't on at night, hammock is precariously placed over jagged rocks etc. Croatia has just as cheap but top quality dorms out there to be found.
