tl;dr Great food, fair prices. We went there as a family of four expecting to eat some local foods, drink local wine, and enjoy the retro feel of the tavern. That's exactly what we got. The beef tenderloin steak was super soft and juicy, and the black truffle sauce was bursting in flavor. The chef did not save on the truffles either which made the steak well worth the price. I ordered medium rare and got medium, but the flavor and the texture were there so I didn't mind. We also ordered gnocchi with beef stew. They were amazing. Just the right amount of acidity, bitterness and sweetness. It was very hearty. The meat was soft and the gnocchi home made. The house red wine is Teran, and it's really nice, with a fair price. Overall, I was very happy with the visit and there's little I would change. Unfortunately, when we were here it was raining, so we sat inside. When the weather is nice the restaurant has a nice terrace, which improves the experience I'm sure of it. I would come back.

Best restaurant in Motovun, with a gorgeus view on Mirna valley. Perfect dishes with truffles. Excelent wines.

The location, interior and the view from terace is really nice. But the food we ate is not worth the price. Beef medallions and ham in pasta with ham and asparagus were really hard to chew, everything lacked the taste and you don’t get any side dish with the meat. Portions are small and the menu is poor. Also the waiter lacks some basic skills. I’m sure there are better places to eat in Motovun.
