The road is passing right by the large stone monuments, ancient tombstones called "stećci". They're unique to the lands in Dalmatia hinterland and Hercegovina, originating from medieval times. Lots of those stones are decorated with simple reliefs from the life.

The location is nicely decorated. Marked on time. There is ample parking. But there is no information whatsoever. The info board is completely faded.

Crljivica is an archaeological site in the municipality of Cista Provo, between the villages of Cista Provo and Cista Velike. It is also under the protection of UNESCO. Large complex 200 x 30 meters in diameter halved Trilj-Imotski road in two parts, Mala Crljivica - south and Velika Crljivica - sewn from the road. The crusader developed in three periods. First, as two thunderclocks from the Bronze Age, among which was later passed through the ancient Roman times Salona - Tilurium - Novae - Narona, which in the 20th century was transformed into today's modern road. One of the tombstones with a cross and a woman Stećak in the form of a plate Crmnica is also the largest and most important group of stećci in Croatia [1]. This old cemetery is abundant with well preserved stećak tombstones from the 14th and 15th centuries. Of the total of about 90 monuments, 16 stećci-sarcophagus, 56 chests and 15 slabs were found. All of them are mostly decorated with a plain ornament that can be found on the stećci in the area, these are mostly crosses of all kinds, anthropomorphic lilies, scenes of hunting, cars, dueling, various plant motifs, crescent moons, stars, etc. The two inscriptions have been preserved in the Bosnian inscriptions mentioning the names Jerko and Vladna Kustrazic (one of them today in the Croatian Archaeological Museum in Split). To the south of the Great Crnitsa there are seven large karst wells that date from the Middle Ages, or earlier. All in all, the whole complex is a unique place that developed along the water source on the important communication path of Dalmatinska Zagora. When clearing nearby wells, one small tombstone was found, which is linked to one legend: "The people were fleeing from the Turks by a bunch of rocks that cast a church that was there. In it are buried a valuable church robe and chalice together with one bell. But there is no need to dig here, because the one who digs will have a disease, and his crops will fight. Each year, at night, from the Duchy to the Holy Spirit. Ante from this crowd heard the bell "[2].

The ruins of an ancient culture. For a superficial viewer, it seems like a smooth rocky hilltop.

many go by the road and do not stop. Damn, that's part of our history. near the stećak are Roman wells, are no longer in function but are still full of water ...
