Mirogoj

A classic old cemetery with neo-renaissance arcades, unfortunately damaged by the earthquake in 2020 and now in the Corona times only a few people are there but that makes the place even more romantic.

Calm and calm. If your grave is too far away, because Mirogoj is really huge, or you just don't know where it is, it will take you to a certain place with specialized mini-cars. Mirogoj is surrounded by walls, and the church near the entrance is beautifully preserved and beautiful (the church of Christ the King). There is also a park outside Mirogoj. Truly a special and beautiful place. We recommend, be sure to visit!

I visited Mirogoj late last fall. Already at the entrance, after a few steps, I was fascinated. Colors, arcades, peace and tranquility. Mirogoj is not only a cemetery and the last resting place of known and unknown souls. Mirogoj is also history, art, culture, past, present and future. An exceptionally dignified and arranged resting place after leaving this world. Part of the old cemetery is an arcade, where many well-known artists, politicians, war heroes, writers, etc. are also part of the old Jewish family, then a new part with a crematorium. Everything is full of greenery, trees, paths and everything is maintained. Tourists often visit this place of serenity and peace.
