Museum-church! One of the emblematic buildings of the old Šibenik.

Church of Sv. Barbara is a single-breasted Gothic building built in the first half of the 15th century. (from 1400 to 1447). It has only two facades, the north and the west, because on its south and east sides there are other buildings. The building was started by renowned Sibenik nobleman Radoslav Mihetić, and after his death he continued and completed his son Ambroz, a distinguished lawyer, as evidenced by the inscription on the western front of the church round relief with the display of grifon. At the church was also the Italian artist Bonino da Milano (from Milan), whose work is attributed to the lateral, northern portal of the port of Sibiu. Bonino da Milan is considered to be the author of the character of St. Nicholas, located in the Gothic Nicosia above the main gate on the western front of the church of St. Nicholas. Barbara. On the same facade, there is a larger round stone plate of the old clock with a double digit number (in a single circle twelve, in the second twenty-four). In addition to the main baroque belfry "on the prescription" was added in 1775. even greater, the work of the local master Jeronimo Matulović. On the side north side of the church is a richly decorated Gothic window, the work of Bonina, below which there is a gothic niche of an unknown master with a relief of the Virgin on the throne with a child in his arms. On the right side of the Virgin Mary, a kneeling male figure with a mantle shifted over his shoulder, his hands clasped and a glance directed toward Christ, is shown. The kneeling figure depicts the Sibenik physician Mark, who in 1419 he made this relief as a vowly gift, as evidenced by the inscription above the doctor's presentation. It is a unique example of a medieval relief display of a doctor on the eastern Adriatic coast.

.very close to the Cathedral ... there is still a trace of the belfry. 2 turrets are ringing bells for the whole city. A characteristic clock on the front.

St. Barbara’s Church is hidden in the alley next to St. James’s Basilica. The church was built in the 12th century and is now used as an art gallery exhibition. The light purple clock on the church and the adjacent clock tower are its special features.
