Okay food, bad service, watch out for extra items on your bill....We visited Rovinj off season so there were not many restaurants open, also this place was recommended by our hotel concierge. I will not say the food was bad, it was okay and thats all I can really say. Which is saying a lot considering the price and the hype was so high. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years so these critics come with a good understanding of what is a realistic expectation. When a place is busy and understaffed problems can occur, any reasonable person can understand that. Now lets talk about the problems. There were only a few other tables occupied so this is not a case of they were slammed. Our server, if one can call a young man who literally came to our table three times during our meal a server. Once to take our order again to bring us our drinks and then after what seemed far too long considering there were more people in the kitchen than in the dinning area, to bring us our food all with a manor that made one fell like he was really doing us a favor every time he graced us with his presence. Lots of sighing with every question. Then came the bill. The bill had many items we did not order. After much discussion we were told that they were out of some of the items we had ordered and substitutions had been made with no notification. But that still didn’t make sense because there were more items on the bill than we had ordered and after looking again at a menu we discovered there were things on the bill we never received. Perhaps these were honest mistakes but it seemed like they were trying to pad the bill hoping we wouldn’t notice due to language differences. The bill had to be sent back to the kitchen to be amended three times so I guess the server did actually come to our table six times. The kitchen staff can be seem from the dinning area so we had a full view of the show going on with all the back and forth of our server going from our table to the kitchen again and again. Towards the end of our bill negotiations the head chef was getting visibly perturbed and starting raising his voice. The bill never got sorted out properly but we just got fed up and decided to call it a night, paid and left. Many times in restaurants there is an A squad and a B squad. Maybe we got the B squad working the night we came in.

The best meal we have had in Croatia! The mussels and squid were out of this world. Service was impeccable with great local suggestions. Would eat here all the time if we could! Highly recommend

Nice space, the food menu promises a lot which you don't get. The service was very slow as the server was all alone and stressed to cover all tables. The fish tartare underwhelming, the sardines tasteless, the truffle pasta overcooked and plain. The manestra soup was good and the wine nice but that's it. They were out of mussels & oysters. Overall I feel it's more of a showoff which you don't get to taste - not what I had in mind when reading the menu or checking the reviews.

This is a really nice place. Our waiter was so friendly and hospitable. We got wine based on what he suggested by a local winemaker and dessert. Everything was delicious. Great place to go for a nice night out in Rovinj.
