Dubrovnik 4 Seasons Private Accommodation

We would never stay here again. The location was good and it was clean. However, our experience was very bad. We arrived in the evening as we had told them in the reservation notes and in a call prior to arriving. No one was there. According to the restaurant staff that tried to help us, no one being here is common. A call to the number on the booking, the daughter of the landlady, said we should expect her mother in 45 minutes. When the landlady arrived more than two hours later, she was very indignant at our presence and it was only after some disputation she showed us the room, reached via a deadbolt locked door at the foot of a stairway/ladder up to the room, that was small, with a small skylight and sloping ceiling that limited where one can stand. Our room looked nothing like the photo on the internet. At this point the landlady demanded extra money for me to receive the controller for the air conditioning. It must have been 100 degrees F in the room. With the stairs/ladder and deadbolt door I was concerned about the room being a fire trap. Given the now very late hour we spent the night and the next morning she demanded payment in cash, which after a trip to a nearby ATM, I provided. She refused to provide a receipt.

Awesome location. Clean shared budget accomodations. Not for people who can't climb a ladder. Air-conditioning costs 10euro extra per night.

location is in center of dubrovnik but the house is very old with bathroom shared with the old lady that do not speak english, we waited 2 hours out of the door beacuse she wasn’t at home and ask an higher price exchanging in local money. very disappointed
