There's plenty of alternative ways to have this trip and that one is definitely not the best one. Decent but you might have more funn taking a speedboat or a catamaran
... even pirate ship is more funn.
We booked the Three Islands Tour at a counter in Okrug Gornji. There are numerous counters offering this tour.
It seems in common they have, that they first head for Maslinica on Solta. A small romantic town where one can have a drink, walk or simply have a swim at the nearby beach.
Next up all seem to head for the Blue Lagoon located at the east coast of Otok Drvenik Veli. At high season the lagoon is very crowded, but it‘s fun anyway to jump from the boat and enjoy the crystal clear water.
Last location and thats where the tours differ from each other is a/ are restaurant(s) at the west coast of Otok Ciovo.
„Our“ restaurant was called „Didovo Oko“. At the boat you were asked whether you prefer fish or meat. Tables were all ready prepared with wine, water and lemonade, salad and bread. Once arrived all dishes were served instantly. Although surely prepared one or another minute earlier, the fish was excellent, the meat relatively dry (as almost everywhere in Croatian restaurants, when served from barbecue). Those hungry for more - like me - had the chance to get another grilled fish. At the end Mokka was served to anyone interested. The „picnic“ was accompanied by one musician playing guitar and singing. The tour attendees were mixed (foreign & Croatian tourists) and the Croatians joined in singing. The atmosphere was really great!
After the dinner there were about 30 minutes left to have another swim or chill under a tree at the beach.
Depending on where from you start the tour, it might get a long return at the end, when tired from the sun, the wind, the day at all, as they pick up and return people in/ to Trogir, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji and Seget Donji.
We have been on tour with M/S Mistika!!! If you plan to do the Three Islands Tour be sure to ask for the vessels name before you book! If overbooked they have 2 more vessels to go (forgot the names).
On board they offer free drinks (water, lemonade, wine and booze) and one croissant each in the morning.
The price of about 25 EUR per person was more than reasonable and I can strongly recommend the Three Island Tour with M/S Mistika!
P.S.: We were picked up at about 09:30 and returned 17:00. At hot days everyone suffers. Although there is no minimum age for attendees, children shall be at least 8 and able to swim on their own. It may be getting a stressful tour on one hand for families with younger children or boring for the latter.
We waited for the transport about 1.5 hour on the sun because they were late. They came with a minivan with 9 seats, we were 14 so we sit on each other. When the minivan go trough a traffic jam (at this moment we were in a 2 hour late) we got out from the van and walk home.
They gave us back the money.
How can YOU Forget ....
The best money spent on attractions in Croatia. They organize all day. We paid 180 kuna for an adult and 150 for a child. The price includes a cruise to a nice island - unlimited drinks, wine and rakija and a seven days croissant. After sightseeing further cruise to the blue lagoon where we bathe by the ship in the water as in the movies. Then a further cruise to another stop and dinner: fish or meat, raw materials, dessert, coffee with live music and time for a bath return. You don't have to take anything to drink or eat because everything is.
