They are the remains of a fortified palace of the Soppe, a noble Venetian family from Zara, active in the 1500s. It had other possessions, as well as in the city of Zadar, like another fortified palace on the island of Babac, opposite the village of Pašman. The remains of Brbinj are abandoned in the countryside and are a gem only for ruins lovers. Go up the steep street next to the Antonio restaurant and take the first dirt lane to the left. Immediately you will see the tower, the remains of the church and the boundary wall. If you follow the wall on the left, you will find yourself in front of the small church with a bell tower. Above the entrance door the dedication to San Biagio and the name of the benefactor, Pompeo Soppe, with its coat of arms are still legible. The perimeter walls of the little church are standing, the roof is missing and some of the terracotta floors were still visible. A small window still bears the word IHS. There is the altar, bare. Bring your covered shoes to avoid the thorns.
