Villa Palme

This was a villa with 5 star views and friendly owners, but desperately in need of updating.the pool was not clean and all sun loungers etc were broken and needed replacing! The top floor apartment was large with stunning views, but all the furniture needs completely replacing. There were 2 broken door & window handles, which meant we couldnt open the door to one balcony nor could we open a window. There was also a dreadful smell in the bathroom, which was appalling. We asked if there were many mosquitoes and were told no. This is NOT true, and on the first night we all got horrifically bitten, so so take heaps of mosquitoe repellent.

It's a very different environment than the one posted. It feels like every facility is more than 20 years old and it doesn't seem to be under control at all. Window blinds are broken and cannot be operated, kitchen walls are scarred from running out of paint and beds are old and dirty. Beddings are so dirty that they cannot be used. I had a hard time staying in these facilities for two days. It's a building on a hill, so you can't access it without a car. I was disappointed to see the status of the pool on the first day. The walls of the pool have moss all over it, and when you got the water, it's. Dead bugs are floating in the water. When I asked my master, he said it was because it rained the day before. I made a reservation for the pool, but I was disappointed. The inside of the lodge is too obvious to have been tampered with as it was originally built. The bathroom's got a moldy, broken shower.a washbasin that doesn't go down because it's clogged. On the second day, I asked my male owner to fix the sink because it was clogged, and he insisted that our children were blocked because they put a tissue in it. Would children aged 11 and 8 play such a trick? Because the bathroom drainage is bad, I used a towel to wipe the floor and asked for a few more, and they say they give me a hotel or a towel every day. The most absurd thing was that the owner of the house was to give out a receipt for the first 200 euros in settlement of the cost of the accommodation, and he insisted, "No way, you can't do that again." I finally admitted my mistake and got it back in cash. It was a mistake, but I couldn't believe it because I insisted on making a stupid mistake. If you pay by credit card, you must calculate the exchange rate and calculate the correct amount to avoid fraud. It's an old, old house run by an old couple, and a lot of nonsense happens. I don't want to experience it again. If you visit this accommodation after reading this article, you will do the same for my experience.

An excellent place to stay. These are separate apartments not just rooms. The views are to die for and there's a pool. The owners are very accommodating, just ask. Our cable went out from a storm and they had a guy come out to fix it the very next morning. This is a small family owned business run with kindness and hospitality. Opatija, the town, is hilly so be prepared for some uphill exercise. Either that or bring a car. The views make it worth the climb.
