It is the only way you can park in the center of Split, we contacted them before and they charged us 170kn a day, a reasonable price for the lack of space to park throughout Split. The traffic is terrible there is no one who moves fluently, very very slow.

You park your car along the guideline lanes in the woods. Paid I don't remember exactly how much but it won't ruin you. Parking there (or in the twin parking lot at the next entrance) is probably a necessity, I have not noticed other places.
