The marathon yacht is an amateur sporting race in the boat race, traditional indigenous vessels in the Neretva valley. It is held once a year, another Saturday in August, under the auspices of the President of the Republic, organized by the Neretva Valley Association. The number of direct participants is one of the most controversial competitions in Croatia. On average, 35 crew with 18 members participate, giving the number of over 600 contestants each year. In terms of visibility, it is one of the biggest events in Croatia, and it is also a tourist spectacle and attraction. It is estimated that tens of thousands of spectators are watching him live along the entire route, along the Neretva coast, both in tourist and private ships, as well as from (for that occasion) a specially organized train. [3] The most impressive and most attractive moment is the start in Metkovic. Then rowing roses in thickly packed navies, with rumble drums moving toward the goal in Ploče. Although the goal is far and the route is intense, at the start all crews are scumbags as if their goal is 100 meters further and they ride the same rhythm all the way.
