The cheating by the staff overshadowed all the pleasant experiences of great food and good, attentive service. At the end of the dinner, the owner of the restaurant announced that he could not issue the official bill because the restaurant is open only until 22:00 (and it was 22:05), so they brought us an invoice written by hand, without details. As a result, we paid 820 kn, it is not clear for what, in cash. (They refused to accept our credit card)! Be careful!!!

This is not the kind of place you come to if all you are interested in is having lunch or dinner. Come here for the magic of the experience of enjoying food in a relaxed and quiet setting - a 500 year old converted olive press. The first thing you notice is the attention to detail. It is obvious that Nevio, the restaurant's owner has tremendous pride in what he does and how he wants to be remembered by those that come to his place. We found this place by chance. You can be assured we will be coming back by purpose.

We found this place quite accidentally on a late Sunday afternoon. They normally would recommend a reservation but this particular night, I don't think they were actually planning to serve dinner but they greeted us kindly and served us a delicious degustation menu that was to die for. Everything was presented beautifully and elegantly but in a very relaxed and casual atmosphere. It was well worth the two-plus hours and the price is very reasonable. We have marked this as a favorite and plan to return, if not on this trip for sure when we return in fall.
