Restaurant Konoba Daniela

As for us, this place has been quite disappointing. Important thing - if you've checked the photos of this place and found octopus with potatoes quite attractive - stay calm, it should be pre-ordered, you won't be able to get it if you'll just came here for accidental dinner. We visited it to have an evening break, we came at 17.20 and there were just few other people, but within 30 mins the restaurant was completely out of free tables. Seems that they are kinda local dining spot for nearest apartments and so on. And it was first warning message for us. Second one was the menu - they have it on Croatian, German, English, French, but each one is just 2 pages of dish names without any details about what it's exactly. And if for "Grilled squid" it's pretty obvious, for "Daniela salad" it's not. And because they have a lot of visitors - the waiter won't have some time to help you with your order. So we ordered grilled squid with Daniela potatoes, Daniela salad and ravioli with mushrooms. After just 10-15 mins or so we received our order and it would be great, but it's not. Because instead of Daniela potatoes it was boiled potatoes, squid was burned, so it was bitter and ravioli - over-salted. When we are talking about salad - yeah it was sliced quite good, but without any kind of dressing, I could be quite subjective, but sliced vegetables is just sliced vegetables and for salad you need to combine all the components using something like yogurt, oil or other sauce. In the end we also received a nice compliment of apple pie and small donuts and it was cute, but unfortunately won't change the overall impression. To conclude - I don't think this place is one you should visit on purpose and I probably would recommend you to consider some other restaurant, but if you're staying somewhere around - then maybe it's okay, but that's it.

Best steak tartare ever, also the preparation and presentation are great! Great crew, very pleasant. Been here several times and I will be back again!

Bad service, seem poorly organized. After some time sitting, had to ask for menus from a waiter that barely spoke to us. Then ordered 1l of wine and got 0,5l of very warm wine that was barely drinkable. The food was ok, but in our grilled fish plate we also got deep fried squids. In the end everybody seemed to get complementary fritulas but us.

Fabulous fuži with truffles, very professional and friendly staff, nice terrace. I was pleasantly surprised with receiving complimentary fritters and apple roll with my macchiato.

I am not sure why this place got such an outstanding rating. The only thing I agree is, that this place is packed with tourists and no locals. And this to me say everything... Staff is very posh and not customer focused. Quality of food is poor. It might be true that the beef tartar is outstanding (I haven’t eaten it and I wont, when di not plan to go back there). I had pasta which was acceptable, but the meat and fries where awful. The fries smelled of old oil and were way to salty. Unfortunately the pork steak got the same salty treatment as the fries, which made it a very unpleasant experience.
