Brgudac is located at an altitude of about 747 m, and the summit above it reaches almost 1100 m (Brajkov Vrh 1090m). The village of Brgudac on Ćićarija was first mentioned in historical documents in 1420 as Bergodaz. In the Middle Ages, the area belonged to the Patriarchate of Aquileia, Counts of Gorizia, and later to the Venetian Republic. From 1848 to 1918, in the territory of Istria, Margrofov's Istria was established, which was a territorial unit within the Habsburg Monarchy and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. At that time, Brgudac was a developed place with a large population of cattle ranchers, holding over 3,000 head of cattle, and producing and selling coal. At that time, Brgudac was a developed place with a large population of cattle ranchers, holding over 3,000 head of cattle, and producing and selling coal. Brgudac is also a symbol of the anti-fascist struggle in Istria, as it is here that the first resistance movement in the Istrian peninsula was organized. 1 November 1943 in Brgudac was founded in the 4th Istrian Partisan troop (Kraška), and on 10 December 1943 in Brgudac is held the first consultation KPH for Istria. What the Memorial House ( Spomen Dom ) also testifies to. There is a Saint Blaise church in the village that is mentioned in 1580. It has a single bell tower (11 m high), an altar with the relief of St. Luke the Evangelist, Saint Blaise. In the local cemetery there is a small church of St. Luke, whose interior depicts the Virgin Mary of Trsat Shrine. A beautiful hiking trail to Korita leads from the village. In about 50 minutes of easy walking, with occasional breaks, we arrive at our destination. At the end of the path we can immediately notice seven water troughs, always full, thanks to a source of pure, supposedly miraculous water. Right next to this source begins the hiking trail towards the summit of Planik, Vodice Griža, Šija ....
And what a modest need to decorate
