Ethnographic collections are usually made up of adults gathering objects used by their family or locals. The emergence of an ethnographic collection "Legradska hiža" conceals a completely different story. A beautiful story of love for homeland, destiny, dedication and "Ekićima". Ekići is a small but very valuable and congenial children's group gathered around teacher Tamara Marcinjaš who has designed several projects for the preservation of heritage of the Legion district within the framework of civic education. Through their numerous activities, the need for organizing an ethnographic collection was underlined. After getting a certificate from the Mayor, they went to tours of similar collections, connected with museums, curators and over a period of nine months of hard work collecting over 300 items for which they made the right catalog and inventory book. They recorded all of the items they collected, from where they came from, information about the donors, about the purpose of the object, and from where it came from and on what occasions it was used. The project included the entire community and on April 23, 2014 held a solemn opening of their ethnographic collection. If you want to know the way people live in Legrad, visit this lovely collection and support Ekipe in their further work. Because they are tirelessly pushing for new projects.
