Some cafes open even at wee hours but it is quite sleazy. If you arrive before 5 am, you don't feel safe cos of the rather motley people hanging out at one of the cafes. Best is go to the first one by the road, most decent looking one and go inside to have your coffee. Better to wait till sunrise at 5 am to move off from the interchange.

Decent L shaped central bus station that covers domestic and international destinations. There are some small cafes for food and drinks and it's next to railway station and a big Konzum supermarket. It's about a 20 minute walk to the old city.

Take note that the toilet entrance requires a fee. Please prepare small change.

For such a busy bus depot, this place is definitely in need of a refurbishment. Perfectly functional. Toilet requires payment.

The worst bus line I have ever booked! We wanted to travel with two dogs and asked the ladies at the switch if it was no problem with two dogs (labrador and terrier) to go with. They assured us of the transport from Zadar to Zagreb and said it would be possible for the driver of the bus to donate an amount and he was allowed to decide this himself. So we started the next day on the way to the bus station. when we wanted to get in we were immediately returned. no dogs here on board. after several times back and forth he told us .. ok the little may with in the cabin  but the big one has to be in the 50 to 60 degree warm luggage room. In other words, your dog is just dead in Zagreb. The Croatian dog policy and tourist emptying is a huge mess. Never again with public transport with dogs in Croatia and certainly not on this bus line. And our money they did not want give us back.
