There is no memorial table at the site of concentration camp anymore. It has been demolished three times and now there's nothing there except the hooks that supported the table.

Nothing on the way or on the island mentions that there were two concentration camps/KZs on Otok Pag in the locations of Slana and Metajna. Boat excursions visit the site for snorkeling and swimming. The local guide on the boat (we swam close to listen to what he said) 'forgot' to mention anything about the history of the place, only after we told him he 'remembered' and mentioned that there was a concentration camp once. A memorial table doesn´t exist as it was destroyed three times over the years. Very sad to visit a place where people don´t try to learn from history but avoid and forget it!

In only three months of the Ustashi administration on Pag, 10,000 to 15,000 Serbs and Jews were murdered in “Slana” camp in 1941. The Italians occupied Pag after demarcation with the Pavelić’s ISC (the Independent State of Croatia). They discovered innocent people’s mass graves after the Ustashi left. In his report to the higher command, Lieutenant Santa, a member of the Italian occupational army’s commission, included a separate report. The camp was established by Mijo Babić. It was controlled by the Ustaše (Croats), who had been installed as rulers of the puppet state of Croatia by Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Slana was a men's camp.

So many people died here in WW2 - jews, serbs and others - and there is nothing that mentions it on-location
