The first written mention of the cemetery dates from 1668 when it was mentioned in the canonical visit that the cemetery around the parish church was poorly fenced. The documents from 1770 tell about two cemeteries, with the old church around 300 meters further raised. The large, well-maintained and well maintained Čakovec Jewish cemetery was able to be preserved to this day. Today the Čakovec cemetery is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Central Europe.
