The most beautiful place in Međimurje, with its great history, St. George on the Breg has a legend about the crimson invaders killed by Sveti Juraj on a white horse. The Old Name of St. George was quoted by St. George over or Honey Vodam. This name undoubtedly points to the privileged high position of the place and the church from which it overlooks the entire Međimurje and the Drava-Murska downhill. It is certain that this legend conceals in itself and the pre-Christian beliefs, namely, the white horse of St. George joins the white horse of the old-Croatian god of the light of Svanimi or Svevid.
