The Pink Zsolnay Exhibition presents everyday objects (coffee and tea pots, soap holders, mugs, toasters, cake and cake bowls, grease pots and wine jugs) that were created during the experiment of Vilmos Zsolnay. Most of the objects of use were given a special and unique color compared to what was usual in the age. Objects for everyday use were placed in pink on store shelves. Initially, smooth shapes gradually became more ornate with the development of the manufactory, in addition to retaining the strange color. The introductory hall of the exhibition evokes the former atmosphere of the warehouse of pink products, about which Margit Zsolnay's grandson, Margit Zsolnay, writes in her memoirs: “A two-storey warehouse building along Felsővámház Street has been built. The floor was occupied endlessly by the pink pot warehouse: three hundred and thirty different shapes, eight hundred and forty in size and design. There was everything from toy pots to kitchen utensils to thirty-liter grease pots, washbasins and tableware to vases and ashtrays decorated with light gold. When the sun shone on the long row of windows to the south, even the air looked pink. This perfectly crafted, uniform pink glaze was the result of pink experiments begun in the early 1880s and has been used to glaze all kinds of utensils for many years. The beautiful color won the audience so much, and its production took on such dimensions that it became necessary to build such a huge warehouse. ”
