Kékestető 1014 m

The highest place in Hungary, a very beautiful place, excellent to make good photos. You can arrive here using car or bus, from Bus terminal close to Ferenc Puskás Stadium is a way. On the winter is possible to see a lot of snow and the temperature: very very cold.

The highest point of Hungary is located in Kékestető, at an altitude of 1014 meters. Red white green stripes on the top of the stone symbolize the national colors of Hungary. Tourists from all over the country (including foreigners) come schoolchildren who want to relax Kékestető can see the sights and most of them visit the designated hiking trails or a part of them. Attractions outside the 1014 stone e.g. Tower Lookout Tower, Sanatorium and Hotel, Ski Resort, II. Ferenc Rákóczi Monument, László Csonka Monument, Kékes spring, Jávoros spring. Restaurants, boutiques and a car park are also provided for relaxation.

The red-white-green-painted marker may be a bit much, but the overall picture is not spoiled by this, but the lack of maintenance - as usual --( Only a few steps lead up to 1014, but a few stones have already fallen out, god knows when and have not been replaced / repaired. By the way, the place is beautiful in big fog, even in autumn, although it is unnecessary to go up to the lookout.
