A 44-es somogyi gyalogezred emlékműve

The monument was made in 1932, Tibor Szivessy designed the pedestal of the statue, and the statue itself was made by Ernő Jálics. The statue depicts the struggle of Hercules and the Lion. With this fierce fighting image, the sculptor wants to illustrate the hell of the First World War. The monument pays homage to the 44th corps, named after Archduke Albrecht, eight of whose members sacrificed their lives for their homeland. The infantry regiment virtually ceased to exist four times, and yet on all four occasions it was transformed again. With this, the young people of Somogy also proved their heroism and patriotism.
