Hotel Molnár

Everything was fine, the staff were very nice and helpful. The room that we booked was clean and with nice Internet access. Even it was with a balcony outside. The hotel has free parking place for cars. 15 minutes distance to the city center by car, with taxi we paid about 10 euros. The area is super safe and chill. I deffinitly recommend this place.

Never again

Made a reservation on booking.com, payment was fully charged the next day. Then the Covid19 pandemic erupted in Europe. Our event (for which we would be travelling to Budapest) got cancelled. I've contacted the hotel to somehow make a deal of a cancellation but their only offer was to "postpone or reschedule". They do not care that you no longer need the accommodation (not at the original moment nor in the future) their only focus is keeping the money by any means. Booking states that any issues/deals should be resolved with the property directly, they say they can't do anything else but to comply with booking rules (Indeed the reservation is "non-refundable" but I believe that label is valid under normal economic activity, not in a pandemic with restrictions and cancelations for many months). When I mentioned that I will reach out to the Customer Protection Agency to get an opinion from them, I've got a derisory reply directly from Mr. Molnár Gyula stating (citation) "we anxiously wait" for what the Customer Protection Agency will tell. This kind of attitude is totally unacceptable from a managing director and I believe says a lot about how client oriented this place really is...

Nice hotel on top of Budapest hills. Nice large rooms and good breakfast. Still bath was not as clean as I would liked it.
