The predecessor institution of the school was founded by the local government of Győr in 1921, its current name was adopted in 1924 on the proposal of the school principal Konrád Zeitler. The building was built by Hlatky-Schlichter based on the plans of Ferenc Erdélyi, technical adviser. Over the past decades, the school has retained its original beauty and value despite internal alterations: the huge doors of the classrooms, the built-in glass cabinets in the hallway, along with the memorabilia in them. The commendable appearance is combined with state-of-the-art teaching and educational work.
