The Tulipános Elementary School, which was opened in 1911, is a typical building of the district of Győr. The L-shaped, one-story main building represents the Art Nouveau style of the era, with majolica ornaments supplied by Zsolnay. The one-storey three-room director's apartment and the one-room deputy officer's apartment were designed by Jenő Kádár engineer on behalf of the city. The school is an outstanding rural creation of the folk trend of the Hungarian Art Nouveau, the only monument of style in Győr. Due to its values, it is one of the most important architectural masterpieces of the city, since 1985 it has been protected as a monument.
