Quoting from welovebudapest.com: "As in the case of the Krúdy-Szindbád statue in Óbuda (see above), the Hilda Gobbi statue in Bajor Gizi Park near the National Theatre invites the viewer to settle down next to it. This work from 2002 depicts the award-winning Hungarian actress just about to light a cigarette (she was a notorious chain smoker). On either side of this pioneering woman is an empty chair, just waiting for someone to sit down and listen to the great artist tell stories of bygone stage legend."

Very beautiful and special sculpture in the Bavarian Gizi Park in Budapest at the new National Theater!

The work of Péter Párkányi Raab is on Gobbi Hilda sitting on the chair as he is firing on a theatrical stage, and in front of it is the pillar main facade of the demolished old Blaha Lújza Square National Theater. The actress had the heart of building a new National Theater, which she could not live without. Gobbi Hilda was a left-wing political-minded, ie faithful, communist who considered the political standstill important. "" I've never been "just" an actor. I believe in the stupidity of many people that the actor has always been unwittingly politicizing. Beyond this, let's not forget about his public deeds - the Bajor Gizi Actor Museum was created on his initiative, Árpád Horváth's dormitory, and Mari Jászai and Ódry Árpád actor for the elderly actors. The Jászai Home later became the home of young actors, also at his own initiative. He has done a lot for his needy actors in the Theater Art Association and the Actors' Union. (source: wikipedia). I think he was a big man, and everything comes after him.

Autumn hairstyle, slightly tilted head reminds me of my grandmother. He was an interesting personality, his statue faithfully reflecting this.
