Medieval University

Fantastic piece of history!

Based on our present knowledge, the fourth Central European and the first Hungarian university, founded in 1367, is the most likely location. From about the 12th to the 14th century, a bishop's palace stood here, which sometime after the reconstructions in the second half of the 14th century, presumably underwent a change of function. The courtyard of the former half-manned palace was covered and made suitable for a larger number of people, based on the design, we can even imagine lecture halls here, on two levels. The exhibition features a whole long period of the medieval history of Pécs, enriched with spectacular video recordings. Worth a visit.

In two halls, material memories and film screenings present the history of medieval Pécs and the bishop's castle. You can also pay by credit card and Nice card.
