Trianon-emlékmű

The approx. resting on a half-meter stone block - according to the description on the museum's website - "the only turtle statue in the world, which depicts a turkey bird considered one of the symbols of Hungarianness". The monument was inaugurated in 2008 by the grandson of Count Albert Apponyi, Count István Pálffy, historian Zsolt Becsei and Ernő Raffay. According to the website, the message of the statue is: “Hungary is not soaring today as ever. The sculpture created by the sculptor Márton Simor expresses this, makes him aware of it. It must be done so that the turf can fly again, that is the most important message. ” Behind the statue is a small block of stone, with a quote from Sándor Márai's 1956, From Heaven to the Angel, among the outlines of historical Hungary. from the poem “Christ of the Peoples / Hungary” and the years 1920 and 2004. The wooden cross was consecrated in 2005 by Bishop József Tempfli of Oradea and the canons of Károly Nagy's castle palaces, based on the inscription on the metal plate attached to it, and was soon restored after it was damaged in 2007.
