Wonderful piece of Hungarian history. Recommended arriving there in time and request a guide tour to know more information as the small post tips have been given you under every each of subjects. More information is needed because lot of beautiful crown jewels, relics, senior church leaders' personal belongings etc. can be found there and it's not possible get info about everything if nobody help you to summarize those knowledges. You can be part of the history among the show cases...I don't have words...I love that! What a pity to be taken photos are forbidden!

The basilica is fascinating, a wonderful spiritual space and a super panorama of its dome, the building itself is phenomenal. I dare to recommend to every person who wants a catharic experience to go to Esztergom.

The treasury presents the art treasures and treasures accumulated from the 11th century to the present day. Originally, all exhibits were acquired by the Church for worship. Due to their artistic, historical and material value, the objects have always been preserved very carefully, made possible by primate János Simor in 1886 so that the treasures could also be viewed by visitors. This is how the museum character of the Treasury developed. The pieces in the collection can be divided into five main groups: goldsmith works, embroidery and weaving masterpieces, book decoration and painting works, carving and the “modern part”. The two best-known pieces in the collection are the Árpádian oath and the Calvary of King Matthias. Visitors can admire the horn cups of King Sigismund and Matthias, the Calvary of King Matthias, the most beautiful Hungarian Gothic chalice, the Suki chalice, and the unique collection of liturgical objects and relics.
