For a 2 Michelin star restaurant, it was quite disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but no plates were great either. The bread + condiments were probably the best part. We kept having to waive for more water. The amuse bouche were pretty good. We went to 7 fine dining restaurants on this trip, sad to say Onyx was the single one that lacked :/

For a Michelin star restaurant, this was lacking, especially for a 2+ Michelin star restaurant. Pros: Sommelier was excellent, the wine was complex and delicious and a real treat to try mainly Hungarian wines from small producers. Service was impeccable, warm and genuine. Cons: Sadly, the food! The water buffalo tartar was just so bland! No complexity in the flavours, just run of the mill expensive ingredients however no thought went into pairing flavours/ textures with the superior ingredients. All the food lacked flavour, depth, complexity and was just good, not great and certainly not Michelin standard in my opinion. There was weird jelly in every course, date jelly, carrot jelly, sour cherry jelly.. strange and added nothing to overall flavour, rather the opposite, it was a distraction. I don't mind paying for quality however this felt expensive for what I received.

Really the best and super beautiful ambience and wonderful decor. Tastefully done interior. Food is delicious and top of the line preparation. Presentation is marvellous. Service is perfect. Staff is fully professional and attentive. Price is very high as it's a fine dining restaurant and an upscale place. Strongly recommended to people who want luxury fine dining.
