Memorial Museum of Géza Gárdonyi

Those who love history, and not far from the works of Géza Gárdonyi from the stars of Eger through the Herb Book to his further writings, should visit this beautiful museum, because here you can see what Géza also saw at that time!

I’ve been here several times, but now I was able to delve deeper into the sights. In the bedroom was the typewriter on which Gárdonyi created. Iron stove, copper chandelier and carved table. The door of the closet was decorated with a painting by the writer. I didn't know he painted either. The other long room includes the huge library. The almost 10,000 volumes were written in all kinds of languages. A skylight on the roof gives you enough light to read even in cloudy weather. Well, a small room: a darkroom, that is, photographed as well.

It’s amazingly interesting, they provide a lot of information that isn’t written about in the ledger. Entering the house, exceptional feelings pervade a person’s body and soul. That's why it's worth traveling to Eger (for art lovers) from anywhere in the country.

Very cool little museum! One is inclined to sink to the leather couch, to light a pipe while reading the prisoners of God. :)

It was an invaluable experience for me to walk through where Gárdonyi lived and worked. Plus, see the first handwritten page of the Eger Stars. Fantastic.
