Hattyú Kemping

Right at the shore of lake Balaton. We stayed there for 1 night with our caravan(7 people about 39€) Good place for swimming if you have kids, water is quite shallow with sandy-muddy bottom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pitch had a elecrtrical connection. Fresh water connection was at the corner of the camp, chemical toilet disposal was also available. Showers and toilets could use a renovation but otherwise clean and nice. Be aware of nasty moscitoes!:)

Very good, close to water, nice for children, owner speaks Hungarian and German, a little bit English.

First, this camp is very very clean. Toilets, bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned all the time and people camping generally take care and mind cleanliness. Second, it is on the very lake. The beach is few tens of steps from any part of the camp. Third, there are lots of trees so the camp is quite shady. The ground is a bit cold - mind that if camping with tent - but nothing unusual since the season was quite rainy this year. Finally the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. 5-7 minutes walking from the camp there is a moderately equipped grocery. Immediatelly outside the camp there are many restaurants and coffee shops. There is also a bike rental. Good connection with Budapest. There are trains every 40 minutes approximately and the trip is 1.44 hours. The camp is 5 min walking from the train station. The camp has to be reserved in advance. The price is very very affordable. Two persons with small tent for 3 nights - 13000 Hungarian forints which is about 40 euros. The lake is a bit disappointing. It is very shallow. You can walk several hundreds of meters to reach chest deep water. It is also very, sometimes uncomfortably warm. It can also be muddy in the afternoon. The beach is not big so can be quite crowded.

Great place with beach just outside the fence, cheap place to camp with a tent. In fact the facility is already pretty old, but it did not cause any problems at all.

Great campsite next to the harbor. Nice service, good prices. Recommendable place!
