The Boby’s Gym, which provides training for the boxing students of the Weightlifting Boxing Club Gyöngyös SE, was handed over to the ceremonial gardens on Friday. The President of the Trade Union, dr. István Bajkai, László Horváth, the local government representative of the region, István Koko Kovács, Olympic, world and European champion boxer, and Uncle Imre Öcsi Szántó, master trainer, and Roland Juhász, president of GYSE, the dreamer of the gym. Dr. István Bajkai emphasized that the Hungarian Boxing Federation supports the work of the gym and will stand by all good sportsmen and true cause. István Koko Kovács said that both the coaching staff and the racing team should fill the gym with soul, let Gyöngyös have such a strong team as at the time when his father was still serving in Gyöngyös. He recalled the boxing father of Imre Szántó, who spent his last years in Gyöngyös as a consultant. At one time boxing in Gyöngyös was the base of Hungarian boxing sport, boxing in Gyöngyös needs to be revived. The master coach stressed that without looking back at the past, building the future is unthinkable. Member of Parliament László Horváth emphasized that boxing made the guests invited to the opening of the boxing gym friends and acquaintances. Boxing is the only sport we choose, not the sport itself. There is no country where we would not know the name of Roland Juhász, who introduced exemplary reforms in Hungarian boxing and said that he was committed to invigorating the boxing life in Gyöngyös.
