The gentleman promised his arrival between 12 and 13 p.m. At 12.50 I called if he was expected to arrive, by which time he told me he was still working elsewhere and would arrive in 1-2 hours. I then signaled to the gentleman that I had no need for his job, for which he was seriously outraged that he had given up 2 jobs because of me and hung up. I think his outrage was unfounded, as he should have indicated that he would be late, and not at my request that he could come 1-2 hours later. If you say at the beginning that you can only come to 3 in the afternoon, I would have tried something else right away.
