Jubileumi Liget

The Jubilee Park, commemorating the 650th anniversary of the founding of the University of Pécs (PTE), was inaugurated in Pécs, Tüskésrét. In the leisure park, which is becoming more and more popular among university citizens, an information surface was created next to the 650 trees planted in the autumn, and more than 110 small monuments representing the countries of origin of PTE's foreign students were placed. The planting: After the opening speeches, Mr. Mayor, Mr. Rector, Mr. Bishop, Mr. Clerk, and Mr. János Kővári, on behalf of the civilians, planted the 5 missing trees of the Jubilee Park. So 650 trees are waiting for spring here. Of particular interest is that the Bishop planted an almond tree, creating a beautiful connection with the legacy of Janus Pannonius.
