Koppány Emlékmű

The place is easily accessible on the yellow tourist road, the memorial site is very well maintained, the road is kept tidy! Today, however, Chief Koppány deserves a more serious memorial, considering many things in history. For many people to this day still think of the Gentile as a swear word, even though it means nothing but that it is NOT a faithful Christian. The pagan man can find God anywhere, even in a stone, but most importantly, he is on his own and does not need an expensive gleaming church.

I predict that - I think, for the sake of historical fidelity - this memorial site is not in place here, as it should stand on the castle hill, in the place of the Cup Castle, in the place of the cross now standing! Here, practically tucked away at the bottom of the hill in the woods ... it's unworthy, even if it can't be up there. All due respect to those who keep the road and the memorial in order even in such circumstances. There are many signs that regular visitors come here .... A passing walking tourist will have to deal with a lot of unknown things, such as the small knock-back tomb, or the unknown signs round the stone slab, the apple, and the branches, the shamanic circle, etc. .... it wouldn’t hurt to place some information about these.

The venue is very cozy. The spring water, when we were there, was not drinkable because it was not visible from where it was flowing, rather it was just leaking from behind the mossy retaining wall. The dirt road leading to it (yellow sign) is slippery and muddy in rainy weather.

It's worth walking here for a few minutes.
