Diófa Csárda

During my summer holidays with my Hungarian wife in different areas of Hungary, I had the occasion to get acquainted with several inns, restaurants and cafés. Some of those places are renowned and have a good reputation, like this one, the "Diófa Csárda". "Diófa" means "Walnut tree", "csárda" means a lonely situated, countryside inn. The name of the famous Hungarian dance "csárdás" comes from "csárda". The "Diófa Csárda" deserves its good reputation. You have a great choice of traditional Hungarian dishes and drinks, served by pretty and friendly young waitresses, you can visit a beautiful garden with an artificial spring and fishes, and moreover a lovely little zoo with sheep, goats, pigs and other animals. Cosy place, delicious meals but crowded at lunchtime.

Me and my Mom went there for lunch in a quiet time of the year, weekday and they had everything from the menu. Nice big portions and nice flavours. Will be back again definiately.
