The house was built in 1847, one year before the freedom fight against the Habsburg. The roof is just amazing. made from teaditional lake side plant. The heating system is very efficiently built so as to make the rooms hot but the smoke will be created only in the next door room. The oven and cooking space is also very thoughtfully designed. An excellent example of the ancient architecture. The entrance fee was about ONE EURO. It is about 2 km from the Zamardi railway station. I took a bike to explore but had to walk with the bike my side due to the steep slope .

About 15 minutes walk from Zamárdi railway station, at Paprika Csárda, on the hill, starting uphill. The tip of my heart is the oaraszt house, because my maternal grandparents lived similarly, it is true in Mezőkövesd. This farmhouse, very old, may be about 250 years old. It was inhabited even in the 1970s. Its characteristic feature is that each room is separated from the others by a wall. The kitchen has an OPEN ceiling to the sky with a fireplace below. The chimney opens directly from the vaulted ceiling. There are wooden poles under the opening of the chimney, where the one to be smoked was hung. The house, the contemporary furnishings, the sight of its utility objects, the atmosphere of the wooden beamed ceiling, take its visitors back to the past a bit. I was also able to see the country house, guided by the local cultural organizer - Péter. Again, I thank him for the much, much knowledge he shared with me. If you want to take care of someone’s river or other affairs, you can take advantage of the traditional drop bud at the end of the garden. Wash your hands at the garden tap.

I really like country houses, open-air museums tell a lot about the history of the given settlement and one always realizes that the differences are not as big as we might think. We came across it by accident when we were looking for a restaurant with friends, located near the Paprika Tavern. Definitely worth a look if you have a free quarter or half hour. The entrance bagatell and the staff are very kind, they will tell you a lot if you ask.

It was a birthday surprise from our friends to visit the country house. We are grateful to Peter for his helpfulness, conversation, time and experience. We wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Wonderful time travel!
