'Betérő a VénKocsishoz'

This was a terrible experience on our last evening in Hungary. The waiters had no knowledge of English, they pretended to speak German but it soon turned out this was not the case. For our dinner, we ordered (in German) goulash with "Pommes (frites)", the German word for french fries. We got the goulash, however with boiled potatoes. When we addressed that "Pommes" means "french fries" in German, they did not understand and it became clear they did not master basic words and sentences in German. If you want to welcome foreign guests in your restaurant I think you cannot manage with Hungarian alone. As we had not had lunch before, we ate most of the meat but it was of poor quality, dry and quite tasteless. The red wine we were served was as cold as iced tea, very strange. A visit to the men's and ladies' room was a disaster. I have never seen such a filthy pigsty before in my life. In both the men's and ladies' toilet there was no toilet paper, empty toilet rolls covered the floor. Apparently, someone had vomited in the ladies toilet and it was up to the guests to discover this. I believe that the check list on the wall indicating that the toilet had been cleaned is only there for decorational purposes. I do not recommend this restaurant. If the owner's would have a critical look at their own business they would have to come to the conclusion that this is far below acceptable standards. I believe restaurants with toilets like this would be closed immediately in most European countries. The incompetence and incapacity of the staff is really a crying shame.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It's in a very nice place, but it's already overgrown with weeds.

I don't even know where to start ... We came in with a group of 6 people, and we managed to get the order from the waitress for 3, because after two people ran off. Therefore, in addition to the two already in the soup and main dishes by the time they were admitted to the rest of your order. (We were sitting at a table ...) When we got in, we indicated that our train would start in a good hour, so we would like to hurry as much as possible. They said no problem, everything will be done. More than 1 hour later, no order was received, so one of us was forced to leave. The foods were also terrible and small portions. The fruit soup had no taste, the mixed salad was like a bag, we got a flat fried potato called steak. He asked for fried mushrooms as a main dish with 4 small heads ... When ordering, we asked for a long coffee and emphasized that we would ask for black sugar without milk. I had to ask the waiter to bring out twice and brought out one sugary latte ... I don't recommend it to anyone.

In spite of extremely negative opinions, the food was delicious and the place was cheap, we ate a lot and we paid surprisingly little. But, there is always a de ... Probably because of a man's shortage, 1 waiter ran down and probably a cook was just like that, so the service was slow. It is difficult to fix it if there is a lack of people, but another criticism that I would like to make is to construct a tray for the waiter because he took out the drinks in poor hands and without a waiter's tray like a soccer ball. Even more positive is that we have a good high dose. For example, we counted 2 teaspoons of cheese with 2 giga of cheese. Overall, all the food was delicious! That's why I think it deserves 4 stars.
